Summary of a talk delivered at the meeting of F.O.R.T. Thursday May 16th, 1996.

"THE ARTHURIAN SWORD"

* How the ideals of FORT relate to life in the 1990's.

A) WHAT WE ARE.

F.O.R.T. is the only organisation in existence which deals with the central issue of the survival of our civilisation.

B) WHAT WE ARE FIGHTING.

There are ten areas of prime concern.
    1. 1. The decline of the family as the fundamental unit of society.
    2. 2. The end of the cultural cohesion of Western nations.
    3. 3. Static Birth rate amongst Europeans (including Australasians and most North Americans.)
    4. 4. The explosion of credit, plastic money, insolvency and the welfare sector - the greed of "Gimme'.
    5. 5. The erosion of the unique nature of childhood.
    6. 6. The enlistment of medical science in devaluing human life.
    7. 7. The threat to personal liberty posed by bureaucracy allied to high technology and including the cash less society.
    8. 8. the warped ideology of  contemporary feminism which has distorted and debauched language, history & gender.
    9. 9. The evangelism of degeneracy in sexuality and lifestyle.
    10. 10. A decline in the value of Western Civilisation.

C)  THE REMEDY

" Where there is no vision the people perish "

Material progress, welfare and self indulgence will never satisfy the soul of man; Therefore a future based on the ethic of utilitarianism will always be unsustainable.

All viable cultures seek reinstatement of those myths which have been their earliest inspiration. Thus their strength lies in the shared consciousness of tribal folk memory.

The Sanskrit word "Satyagraha" literally meaning " a grasping for truth " was adopted by Gandhi in his policy of passive resistance to the Raj - it came to mean also "Soul Force".

Devotion to the truth leads to moral leadership which is more powerful than naked oppression or the dead hand of social conformity. This is demonstrated in our motto - "We serve truth not consensus".

I recommend that the policy of F.O.R.T. be one of passive resistance to all forms of political correctness. This must find expression in our lives, in the way we live; therefore simplify your lifestyle in that you may embody strength of purpose; remembering that respect for higher moral duty, above and beyond any written laws, is the final test for any truly civilised person.

A GOOD STARTING POINT:

 * Use language as established prior to the violation of words and meanings - e.g.: the word 'gay' means; lively, merry, bright and colourful only. etc. etc.

F.O.R.T. has deliberately invoked the myth and symbolism of Arthurian  legend because of its regenerative power to kindle the imagination and foster the undying hopes of Western Humanity.

The Arthurian Legend stands for the glory which was once real and has never actually died; it lives on, enchanted and asleep through the ages.

It is our 'Dreaming', thus again, all valid and vital cultures are based on reinstatement and the rebirth of national visions, once cherished and never totally lost.

Ghandi succeeded in reaching the peasant masses of India not as a social reformer, a liberal or a political revolutionary, but as an avatar (literally - 'the incarnation of a deity') who dug deep into India's cultural soil to retrieve what had been 'lost'.

Straight forward progress along rational lines progresses no one, yet natural cultural myths based on the reinstatement of lost glories (even if they never existed) are all powerful - as recent history proves, - witness Israel.

Thus when we speak of our prime aim "The regeneration of the Western Soul": we have chosen the greatest cause that any organisation of Western people could possibly have. Honesty and sincerity are not enough unless anchored in ideals beyond the reach of analytic dissection; it is here that mythology overrides common sense and the greatest good for the greatest number!

The ultimate appeal of monarchy is the power of legend. It is said that the central ambiguity in the philosophy of Nietzsche is his intellectual passion for the naked truth as against his emotive love for the illusions of art and mythology.

This also is our dilemma. Thus Arthurian symbolism is the necessary bedrock of our inspiration where truth and beauty blend in the Dreamtime of Western man. It also symbolises the essential oneness of Western culture.

Quite apart from this I am still obliged to believe in the eventual "denouement' when a revolutionary situation will arise in our country due to the  inevitable clash between good and evil.

We must strengthen ourselves and prepare for that time so that we may take our place on the 'side of the angels' but we must never promote or advocate violence, bearing in mind or central ethic.

* To observe - "Honour, Chivalry, Service and Nobility in all our acts and to honour:-

*    The sovereignty of the individual
      The sanctity of conscience
      The sacredness of human life
For us the end does not justify the means. We must embody what we seek.
